We are delighted to announce that Dr. Asghar Ali Engineer Best Published Paper Award 2023-2024 is awarded to Dr. Qazi Sarah Rasheed, GENDER.ED Postdoctoral Fellow, Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities, University of Edinburgh, Scotland for her paper titled “Transcending Binaries through Self-empowerment and Personal Development: Exploring the Role of Muslim Women Activists in Community Reforms” published in the South Asia Multidisciplinary Academic Journal (SAMAJ), ISSN: 1960-6060, 30 June 2023 .The eminent jury went through several papers before deciding on the best paper.
The award carries a cash prize of INR 25,000.
The Award was instituted in honour of Dr. Asghar Ali Engineer (1939-2013), a renowned Islamic scholar and activist and the founding Chairperson of the Centre for Study of Society and Secularism.
